The Fielding Family
Ken and Marg Fielding, with their son, Curtis began farming the land and building their vision for a Northern Ontario winery retreat in the heart of Niagara’s wine country back in 2001. A few years later, Curtis fell in love with wine hospitality expert, Heidi and a beautiful partnership in life, love and business strengthened the foundation of family owned and operated Fielding Estate Winery. The winery doors opened in 2005 and the Fielding’s are proudly celebrating 15 years.

Heidi and Curtis are well known across Niagara, not just for their amazing wines & ciders but also because they are simply wonderful people with 2 active boys and a very cute dog named Gunner.
Curtis has been a Grape Grower for close to 20 years. As the 2012/13 Grape King, Curtis also sits on the Ontario Craft Winery Association Board to further support the Ontario wine industry. A former race car driver, Curtis is an accomplished hockey coach, one of the owners of the Grimsby Peach Kings and a local firefighter. Curtis also enjoys the outdoor life back home in Minden with his family always trying to catch the next big fish.
Heidi is the warm smile and sparkling personality that you often see on TV chatting about wine country events, special occasions and supporting local wineries in every way possible. Heidi sits on the Niagara Wine Festival Board, sharing her 20 years of hospitality and marketing experience. Equally at home at a black tie gala showcasing Fielding wines, or sporting a Leaf’s jersey playing road hockey with her son’s, Heidi brings passion to everything she does.
There is no other winery couple quite like Heidi and Curtis. A beautiful story of family, love, community support, amazing wines and cider with a pure enjoyment for life.

Fielding Estate Winery Cabernet Syrah 2017 is a rich and savoury red with a burly nature that’s best suited to barbecued, roasted or braised meat dishes. Blackberry and black cherry aromas and flavours are enhanced by pepper, toasty oak and chocolate notes. The blend features 57 per cent cabernet sauvignon and 43 per cent syrah from a variety of Niagara vineyards, which helps to contribute to the complexity and character. At three years of age, this is just starting to hit its stride. Decant for best enjoyment if you’re opening a bottle this fall. Drink now to 2026.
Also from Ontario is the very good 2019 Fielding Estate Unoaked Chardonnay, VQA Niagara Peninsula (Vintages Essential 164491, $15.95). This bone dry, light-bodied thriller is lively and quenching. It races across the palate with streams of lemon-lime, pineapple and apple flavours that taste bright and pure. Score: 92
